Watches

You guys are gonna get so sick and tired of me and my jewelry but I'm having a ball. I finally broke down and started making watch bands and it is so fun. I've made a bunch of them which you will see - later on I want to make matching necklace and earring sets too - so your watch will match your necklace! More fun.

I've been busy and made 17 or 18 watch bands and today I got my watch faces in the mail ...just like Christmas! I had to match 'em up colorwise and that kept me entertained for a while!
Here is my display covered with different watch bands: hot pink, pink, lime green, brown, lavender, another brown, salmon and peach.
Here are the same eight watch bands with watch faces!! Color coordinated! The bands pretty much sell for $10.00 each and the watch faces for $10 each - you can mix and match - you don't have to buy a watch face if you only want the band. But I had fun matching them up. Some of the watch bands will sell for $12.00 and some for $8, with the majority of them selling for $10. It all depends on the cost of the beads that they are made with. I have started using a double elastic thread as I make them to strengthen the bands.
More than half of the watch bands I have made so far are 'flat' bands - the beads laying flat on your wrist rather than being big and clunky. I am making big and clunky ones also but I for one like a jeweled flat beaded band with sparklies (of course!) Again though, I do custom and if you tell me what you need I will create it YOUR WAY! This crystal bracelet is a custom order - a friend described what she wanted and I found the beads and made it for her - at no EXTRA charge. $20 for watch and watch band/bracelet.

This yellow watch band shows the round pearlized bead (and with a flat back) with matching Chinese crystals and the silver toned rhinestone separators. Rich and beautiful I have made watch band/bracelets like this in pink, peach, salmon, black, brown, yellow and lavender so far. I am keeping my eyes open for more beads like this in blues, greens and true reds.

This is the watch band I made for Mauri for her birthday - as soon as I saw these cobalt blue glass beads I knew I had to make it up for a birthday present. It turned out gorgeous I think.

BiG SaLe

The skull is a fun necklace for guys or gals...I have this one in yellow, and also one in red and one in rust color. All hang from a black cord. FOUR BUCKS!

Everything is on sale! This fun Halloween charm necklace set has been discounted from $22.50 for the set to only $15 for the set. As you can see, it is made up of cute Halloween charms....since the charms run almost a $1 apiece wholesale it makes the necklace a bit more expensive than the others. But still so cute and fun to wear as a set. I will sell the pieces separately... $7.50 each for the necklace or bracelet and $5 for the earrings. I have also got some cute bracelets for sale that aren't "Halloweenie". More of the fun charms! These cute charm bracelets are selling for $7.50 each. The one above is called Hearts and fairies. You can see the different hearts and the cute tinkerbells hanging off of it.
This one is titled Butterflies. So cute and so fun to wear. If you would rather have these charms put on a chain bracelet that can be arranged. So far I only have these made up in silver but can make a gold toned bracelet with fun charms also.
Last but not least is this one called apples and strawberries. Somehow I need to get a bit more creative with my titles but they describe the charms so I know which bracelet is which. Again - these are all just $7.50 apiece

Halloween bracelets - I call these mini bracelets because the beads on them are smaller - they look cute as a single wrap (the top two) and they sell for $6.50 each. The lower bracelet wraps around your wrist about 2 1/2 times - it sells for $8.00 They are made up of skulls, eyeballs, stars, and various other orange, green, purple and black beads.

the orange stars are really more orange than what they show in the picture here - I think the reflection of the flash causes them to look more pink than they really are. Ta-Da!

It seems like whenever I have new necklaces to display I realize I've never posted the previous several ...I made these over the last month or so and there are some interesting projects.


This necklace is called "wheels of color" as I have taken several different sized rhondelles of polished rock and strung them together creating a necklace of earth toned beauty. The solid gold toned chain hanging below the focus just adds depth to the necklace.

Scarlett Beauty is made up of a polished tear drop of rich scarlett tones. It connects to a combination of chain and strings of seed beads. Above the seedbeads is a string of beautiful beadwork that sparkles and glows with the richness of color.
This is the same necklace as above showing the beadwork and toggle closure up close.



This pile of beads is actually a piece of memory wire strung with rocks and beads and polished stones. It wraps a solid three times around your wrist and has a lovely little translucent brown toned leaf at each end.
This is a fun necklace of black and white - clunky beads so fun to wear. It also has the toggle closure. In this picture the earrings are made up of the black plastic beads and white pearls. I have since replaced the white pearls with white plastic beads.
This is a memory wire bracelet that is made of molded plastic made to simulate carved beads. I call it my African Bead Bracelet.
The silver gecko. I made this one in silver and black but it would be a fun piece hanging off of a cobalt blue and silver necklace or a deep rich red and silver combination. The Gecko has rhinestones all down his back.
This final necklace is one of a series that I have made. I have the pink necklace displayed at the top of this page and I have now completed a similar style in baby blues and silver. The show piece on all three of these pieces is the beautiful Swarovski pendant that is attached to the rest of the beadwork with either lobster claw clasps or spring ring clasps so that they CAN be REMOVED if desired.
Here is a closeup of this particular pendant. I have taken this same metal piece and woven it into a bracelet but I needs practice before I set it up for sale.

I have two more bracelets made with memory wire and this green bracelet on a slip on style silver toned bracelet to post soon. There are also three more necklace sets - two in blue and one in black.

just a couple more

Tonight my sweet husband fixed us both a piece of cake and a couple of scoops of ice cream....about 10 pm....by 10:40 pm my feet were jumping and itching and burning and just plain being miserable. So after trying to control them (HAH) I finally got up and came in the livingroom. At least here I am not in danger of kicking Ed!

Anyway I decided to blog the newest creations in my necklaces. Including one that is still in the creative state...unfinished. However its close enough for you to be able to get the idea of how it is going to look.
I am calling it crimson serpent...it's focal point is a three inch glass snake with golden glimmers. I have beaded two ten inch strands with orange and gold beadwork and threaded them through golden loops. This will be attached to 8 strands of orange seed beads which will in turn be attached to more gold loops without the beadwork. It should be really striking by the time I am done with it. I haven't started thinking out the earrings yet . I have to run over to Ben Franklin tomorrow morning and buy some gold toned 'cones' to thread the seed beads into. This is going to be one of my "One of a Kind Series" - I will post it when I get it finished.

This is an older one that I lost the earrings for so I made new ones. I also corrected a small error on the necklace that needed to be done - so my Black Rose necklace is back out on the market.
I had this picture on my last post - but it was so shaded you couldn't really appreciate the depth of the pendant (two feathers bent together at the top, layered in silver, then copper, then gold.


This is a very busy but very beautiful piece I made for a very dear friend. She picked out the design and the color scheme and said she wanted big beads for it - so I went to work and made this gorgeous necklace that is composed of two strands of beadwork (with charms) and a middle strand of gold chain. A different gold chain is connected to this three strands and it goes in a single chain around the neck. In this picture you can see the single dangle earrings I made to match.
The second pair of earrings are dangles of various sized translucent leaves (they match some of the charms on the necklace) that you can see on the upper left of this picture. The necklace closes with a gold toned rose toggle closure. There is a fun matching bracelet on the top right of this picture made with memory wire... So this set comes with a necklace, bracelet and two pair of earrings. I made the dangling leaves set first and then decided that maybe they were too busy so I made the simple ones next to let the recipient choose. I named the set Diana's Delight

Last but not least is this one called Lavender Beauty. The outside strand is made up of tear drop amethyst stones and the inside strand is made of amethyst chips. The middle strand is 4mm Swarovski crystals in two tones of lavender. It has a magnet closure at the back. The earrings are beaded stones and crystals hanging off silver chain.

Finally Something New!

I can't believe that its been over three months since I last posted new jewelry! But there was definitely a slow slow period where I think I had decided no one liked my creations so why bother. I know now that was in conjunction with the months of illness I went through this Spring and I simply didn't feel like 'creating' anything.
Once I got my office moved from downstairs to an upstairs room where I could sit down and play with beads anytime I wanted things have changed. I have wonderful sunlight that pours in through the window giving me excellent lighting and that really helps.

I did run into one glitch this last month however and that was on the necklace below. It was a special order and I think I remade the entire necklace at least five times. Amazing. The lady I was making it for wanted first of all - a solid necklace because she is allergic to most metals - so she picked out the pink tones she loved and we decided on sterling silver findings. The style she picked did not work well - she wanted about six dangles of beads coming off the bottom of the necklace and no matter how I tried it didn't look good. So then I took the dangles and tried to make delicate loops - nope, nada, no way. Finally I simply took the 'dangles' that I had made in separate pieces and hooked them together with sterling silver links. So pretty, so delicate - I hope she likes it.

Pink Delight -

This is Donna's necklace - the one I worked on for three weeks! And it is much prettier than the photo shows. It is made up of Swarovski crystals, other crystals, pink pearls, and sterling silver spacer beads. Each grouping of 11 beads were strung on short pieces of 19 string wire and finished at each end with sterling silver spring beads. The S hook connector on the necklace is sterling silver as are all other findings in the piece. The earrings are two separate dangles connected in the center so they will move separately of one another. By the way, the pretty flowers were picked for me by my sweet husband while we were camping in the mountains last weekend.

Feathers of Gold
One of a Kind Series!

Stunning 1 1/2 inch pendant of metallic feathers (gold, copper and silver) sets the stage for this sparkling gold toned necklace and earring set. I made this necklace in a matter of two days as I again started with an idea that just simply didn't look good. I decided to take the idea from the Pink Delight necklace above and create separate sections of beads, one in silver, one in copper and one in gold. As I laid them out I was not happy with the clash of the different colored sections. Gorgeous as each of them were, it overwhelmed the pendant and made it tooooo busy. So I made the first section of small spacer beads in the three metals and then stayed with the gold tones for the rest of the necklace. The color combination repeats itself throughout the 19 inch necklace that is beaded in separate pieces to lay softly around your neckline. The flowered magnet closure adds t the overall design. Hypoallergenic fish hook earring wires hold a single dangle of matching beads. $24.oo set

Jasper Elegance

There was a fantastic tree trunk at our campsite this last week up in the mountains. I was amazed how it 'set' the necklaces off. So often many of the backgrounds I use for the jewelry seem to throw back extra light but this tree stump seemed to absorb it and leave the beauty of the necklace. This necklace is made from polished jasper rocks in all colors. I have taken various colors and shapes of the rock and separated them with antique gold toned spacer beads. The 22 inch necklace closes with a beautiful rose toggle hook that is not shown in this picture. The earrings are a simple dangle of three smaller jasper pieces so it won't be too heavy for the fish hook earring wires.Jasper Illusion

As with the necklace above (Jasper Elegance) this necklace is created around the natural beauty of polished jasper. This 33 inch necklace combines many sections of triple stones that are beaded with antique gold toned spacer beads spread out on 19 strand necklace wire and has a magnet closure. The combination of stones and delicacy is fantastic. The matching hypoallergenic earrings are a quadruple drop of the smallest stones I had so as to avoid being to heavy. This gorgeous set sells for $20.

This necklace started out to be another illusion style necklace but as I was making it I realized how beautiful it was just sliding across the 19 strand necklace wire I had put it on. The 19 inch length is perfect for this style as it lays at your collar bone and sparkles as you move. The magnet closure has a cute handmade hand charm to help you find the closure at the back of your neck for easy removal. The hypoallergenic earrings of silver tone fish hooks are a single dangle. $17.50 per set

Copper Marble Necklace and Earring Set

This 21” necklace is made of copper toned materials. Starting with a 19 strand copper necklace wire it combines large marble and white toned oval beads that are highlighted with a combination of bright copper mini ovals, a sparkling translucent toned cut bead and a long circular rectangle bead that compliments the copper tones throughout the necklace The necklace has a toggle closure . Hypoallergenic copper toned fish hook wires have a triple drop dangles of chain and the some of the same beads as the necklace. It doesn’t have the large oval stone due to the weight of the stone - they are too heavy for earrings . The set sells for $22.

Garnet Chunks w/ Silver Chain

Two necklaces and one pair of earrings. The shorter necklace is made up of deep burgundy toned rocks, iridescent crystals, flat burgundy squares all interspersed with silver toned balls of striated metal. The 12 ½ inches of beadwork is then connected to 11 inches of interwoven silver toned chain creating a lovely necklace that is 23 ½ in length. The matching chain necklace can be worn either with the beaded necklace or separately and is 28 inches in length. Both necklaces have magnet closures The hypoallergenic earrings are a single dangle of the same stones. $26.00 for ALL Again - I need to retake this picture as we lose the necklace in the background.
