My Newest Creations

After we got home from our trip to the northwest I was able to go to my favorite bead store and take a class in how to create these enameled metal designs.

This is a new method of jewelry design for me.  I took a plain piece of bronze metal and attacked it with a hammer giving it some depth and interest.  Then I took three bottles of paint - pink, light turquoise and lavender and painted it, baked it, and then scrubbed it with a piece of sandpaper.  then I baked it again and then stencilled the copper glitter butterfly - I then baked it again and sealed it all with a glaze and baked it AGAIN!   I then attached the copper butterfly charm.  I added a couple of lavender Swarovski crystals to each side and then attached the chain that surrounds your wrist closing with a toggle closure ...this creation combines both copper and bronze metals with gorgeous colors for a one of a kind piece of jewelry.
Lavenders, blues and pinks create this beautiful lavender and brass bracelet with copper glitter butterfly and a cute copper butterfly charm attached to the brass plate.  It attaches with a toggle closure

This gorgeous flower pendant is painted in rusts, coppers, and yellows with an polished agate stone in the center and also in the earrings.  (The colors are truer to the picture below.)

This bracelet is made much like the lavender one.  It has a gold embossed butterfly as a main highlight with a small brass butterfly attached.  This bracelet attaches with a lobster claw.

The Gilded Goddess is painted in pinks and lavenders - both the figurine and the rosettes on the 33 inch chain.

This butter fly was painted with blues, greens and gold glitter.  A double brass chain connects to a toggle closure at the back of the neck (19 inches)
These silver metal flowers are painted with greens, oranges, pinks, yellows, blues and lavenders (pastels) and then baked, sanded and glittered with silver glitter and then sealed with a glaze and baked again.

These items can be painted in most any color combination.   It is a special paint and I am unable to get it in reds or true golds or silvers.  But if you want something in greys and blacks, pastels, blues, greens, lavenders, rust and oranges, etc it can be made.  Glitter color (gold, silver, copper) depends on the metal and design.  I have all sorts of metal pendants and bracelet slices...keep an eye out for future creations!!!

Septembers Pretties

I have not been doing a whole lot of creating this summer - we have had a wonderful summer of travel and camping...I would take a few beads and wire with me but most of my beads were left at home.   I can't remember which necklaces I have posted so I am just picking out the ones that we captured on film after June.  Many of these are still up at our campground in Idaho at the clubhouse for sale or sold ...I haven't checked lately...we will be picking it all up at the end of this month and then the necklaces I still have I will put up on  Etsy.com

Rhodonite Fan - $20.00 for the set
Okay - this set is my most expensive set EVER.  It is made up of REAL turquoise, REAL coral, and REAL sterling silver beads  - then I strung it together with hand made non tarnish silver wrapping wire that I twisted into fun little springs to add interest.  The set includes the earrings which dangle from sterling silver hoops.

Its been a long while

I am ready to leave and go camping for three months again....it seems like I haven't had a minute to myself to do jewelry since we got home the first of April...  I don't think that I've posted any of these necklaces previously although I DID make some of them in Arizona...I have only designed a few since I got back home.  But I really don't want to go to Arizona right now...it was 105 degrees there today!

This is one of my all time favorites.  Those of you that know me, know that a simple illusion necklace is my favorite thing to wear.  The exciting thing about this rainbow illusion is that it is strung onto wavy wire.   It adds a really fun twist to the Swarovski crystals that start in the middle with a pale lavender tone and moves outward to pinks, oranges, yellows, green and finally blues...19 6mm crystals of top quality are spaced one inch apart on this necklace.  The hypoallergenic earrings are dangly Swarovski's, again of the 6mm  multi hued crystals and a magnet closure for easy on and off.   - this necklace is on SALE for only $18 right now.
This illusion necklace is made of fire opal orange Swarovski crystals - they look orange with a deep red center and are gorgeous.  These crystals are spread out an inch and a half apart on 19 strand gold toned necklace wire.  Again it closes with a magnet and the double dangle hypoallergenic earrings have a total of six more Swarovski crystals in fire opal orange.  $20
This necklace is made up of black beads separated with silver toned rhinestone embedded rhondelles - giving a lovely sparkle as you move.  The necklace is 19 inches in length and has single dangle earrings of matching beads hanging from sterling silver earring hooks.   $18
This is a fun necklace - I have taken baked enamel disks and strung them on  a 20 inch copper chain (it closes with an over sized easy to open lobster claw).  On each of the dics is hanging different colored tear drop flats and then a feather flat made up of the same type baked enamel on metal disc.  The earrings are matching soft toned discs with tear drops and feathers.   $20 set
This gorgeous necklace is called Silver Chrysanthemums - as you can see in the picture it connects with a hook and eye type closure and you have several inches of double silver toned chain.  Then the round beads set off the oval beads of polished snowflake obsidian.  which lead to the large  (abt 1 1/2 inch diameter) silver toned flowers.  You also have beautiful silver toned oval metal spacer beads to add drama to the whole set.    The earrings are single drop earrings made up of the flat oval bead, the black round bead and a smaller version of the silver crystanthemum flower.   The set sets for $24 and is approximately 25 inches in length.
This picture simply doesn't do this necklace justice.  I am going to have to try taking a better one with Ed's camera and see if that helps.  I have taken cracked grey glass marble beads, frosted silver tone beads, and antique brass beads and strung them all onto a 19 strand silver toned necklace wire with a brass hook and eye closure.  The necklace is about 19 or 20 inches in length with a lovely textile rosette with dangling charms offset on the left side of the necklace.  Then I took multiple strands of navy blue, black and gold seed beads and wove them into the whole necklace.  The matching earrings are triple dangles of the same beads in the necklace only smaller so they won't be too heavy - they are hanging from hypoallergenic brass toned clips for pierced ears.  This necklace sells for $28.00 for the set

This necklace has a textile flower much like the previous one but it is sage green instead of gray-blue.  Again it is a combination of beads (this time polished jasper in shades of green) separated by copper toned spacer beads.  The closure is the over sized decorative lobster claw that is VERY easy to open and close even with fake fingernails.  The earrings are a single drop of hypoallergenic copper toned ear wires with matching beads in a smaller size.
This is a close up shot of the textile (fabric) flowers....this one is sage green and the one above is grey-blue
This is a fun and very different necklace wire.  It simple slips around your neck and you can change the pendant with ease - I have this silver necklace with this pendant for sale $30.  You can buy the necklace wire for $20 either in this silver twist or a flat gold for $20  ...or different stone pendants that range in price from $7.50 to $12...more on this in another blog
This pearl and crystal necklace is actually a pale lime with a fun pendant that hangs above your breast bone. Again - the colors in this photo leave much to be desired.  This necklace sells for $22 due to the expense of the 8 mm Swarovski crystals.  Matching earrings come with it.

This is called Copper Charms - it was a fun one to make...it has keys and birds and butterflies.  It has beads and leaves and more butterflies.   It has an oversized lobster claw closure that is easy to use (I normally hate lobster claws but this thing is an inch long and has a beautiful flower design on it.
The color is this picture isn't as rich but I wanted you to see the focal point which is a lovely copper toned butterfly nestled between two ceramic beads.   The earrings are fun dangles with more copper charms hanging from hypoallergenic earring wires.  This necklace set will set for $25.00

End of February

We've been pretty busy here lately -
Wednesday I drove to Parker 35 miles away to see a doctor and have my boil lanced.

Thursday we were involved in a real fun ATV ride from our campground that went for about 70 miles.  Ed and I didn't ride that day, rather we 'manned' check point #4 for the friends that were riding.  It was a
'poker run'...in other words, the first station you pay $5 and draw a card.  Another 10 miles down the road is checkpoint #2 where you draw another card.  10-15 miles farther (and on top of Preacher's Ridge where we got to see Big Horn Sheep the day we planned the ride out the week before) is checkpoint #3 for card #4 and then another 10 miles on is checkpoint #4 where we sat and let them each reshuffle the cards and draw card #4, then back to checkpoint #5 for the last card in your hand.   We ended up with a total pot of $135 which they split two ways...the winner with the best hand (a pair of kings!) earned $70 and the winner with the lowest card hand won $65.  We had put out over 300 flags clipped to bushes, trees, etc to mark the trail for the people to follow.  Every one seemed to have a great time - it was a great ride with rocks, hills, washes, straight runs etc.

Friday we spent all day in Quartzsite.  We took the trailer in to Discount Solar where he had the trailer rewired so that our solar power goes through the inverter directly to our 110 outlets.

Then Saturday Ed and I went back to Parker for another six hours at the ER waiting to be seen as a follow up for my boil, to make sure it was healing again.

I worked on this necklace as we sat by our truck at the Poker Run check point on Thursday.  I pulled this design from a new book on wire wrap...and I hammered the copper wire giving it a beaten look.

The full necklace - I need to take another picture with a better view of the earrings.

Coral Shells - this necklace is so gorgeous.  I wore it yesterday and the waitress where we ate immediately ordered one like it in turquoise.   She said that $23 was a steal!   It is made out of shell pieces and crystals.  You will soon see pictures of the same necklace made in turquoise, gray/black, sienna brown and purple!

Another pair of foot bracelets - this time in turquoise.

I am making another necklace to string below this one to soften the heaviness of the mini rock slabs.  Again - I need to take some better pictures.   Maybe I will use Ed's camera as mine needs to be replaced.

January designs

We've had some warm days and some cold days - on the cold days I sit inside our trailer and make pretties.  There are several ladies here in our campground that make jewelry and I have gotten some fun new ideas from them.  I am going to teach a class on Wednesday on the actual wire wrap that I enjoy doing.  I will probably also teach them how to make the foot bracelets too (see below)!

Brown and Gold Wire Wrap Necklace:  This is one of my several wire wraps - there are all sorts of designs that fall under this category.  This faceted brown stone is set off with a gold toned wire wrap - all hanging off of a simple gold toned chain. It sells for $8 - no earrings although I could make some matching ones very simply for a couple dollars more.

Lavender Bail Necklace and Earring Set:  This is a lavender stone that hangs from a beautiful beaded necklace with a silver toned bail.  You can see a couple of the gorgeous flat silver toned bead that separates the lavender stone and lavender pearl beads.   $18.  Go to my Etsy site to see more pictures of the whole necklace.
SOLD
Peach Pearl Necklace and Earring Set:  Peach pearls separated by bronze crystals string together to make  this 19 inch neckl.  The beautiful seashell is wire wrapped with copper gold toned 26 gauge wire with another peach pearl wrapped in the center.  Only $22 includes a set of dangling pearl and chinese crystal earrings
SOLD
Turquoise Chunk Necklace and Earring Set:  I initially created this necklace on elastic watch strands but it wasn't strong enough to hold together - so I restrung it into a 19 inch necklace on my 19 strand necklace wire.  You can see the fun oversized chunks of turquoise plastic beads.  The earrings are made with matching beads of various sizes.  It has a toggle closure.  Only $16.00 a set
SOLD!
Topaz Foot Bracelet Set:  This is just perfect for wearing to the beach or to the pool ... or just around the house.  It is a bracelet that slips over your foot around your ankle and then the elastic at the other end of it slips around your toe ...voila!!  A gorgeous FOOT bracelet!  This one fits sizes 8 1/2 through 10 but I can make any color any size.   Each order includes two matching foot bracelets.  They are very comfortable to wear because you slip the elastic under and around the toe and the beads sit on top of your foot.  Only $15 a set.
Tiger's Eye Stone Necklace and Earring Set:  This 19 inch necklace is made of diamond shaped distressed Tiger's Eye stones separated by fun z shaped beads of the same stone and gold toned beads.  The earrings are made of matching gold toned beads and tiger's eye beads hanging from gold toned chains.  $20 for the necklace and earring set.

SOLD!

Black Fire:  A fantastic necklace of black ovals and aurora borealis chinese crystals that sparkles in the sun.  The fun black rhinestone studded bead separates the four ovals and makes the necklace a true one of a kind.  The necklace is 19 inches in length with a black toggle closure and is strung onto 19 strand necklace wire - my favorite for its durability.  The earrings are simple double dangles of black chinese crystals hanging off of black toned chain - $20 for the set
Twists and Ovals Necklace and Earring Set:  This 19 inch necklace is made up of magnalite twists and beautiful ovals stones separated by antique silver toned beads.   A silver toned rose toggle closure makes for easy on and off.  The matching earrings are made of the matching silver toned beads along with the magnalite twist bead.   $20.00 per set

SOLD!

Copper Twist Wire Wrap Necklace:  This two inch diameter dichroic medallion simply glows with copper, browns and golds.  I have taken copper gold 26 gauge wire and created a bail that connects to a 22 inch long copper toned chain.  The bail wraps down through the medallion opening and is twisted into a double coil, one with a pale pink chinese crystal and one with a copper cube.  Only $12 for this beauty.  No earrings.
